A video on the life cycle of the monarch butterfly has gone viral lately. The monarch butterfly is one of the most beautiful and commonly found butterflies in the United States, Mexico and it is known for its migratory cycles. The scientific name of the monarch butterfly is Danaus plexippus and it is well known for its ability to hibernate and metamorphize. It has been placed in the family Nymphalidae by scientists. Currently, it is placed in the endangered criteria by the WWF. The monarch butterfly is also known as the wanderer and common tiger. In this video posted on Reddit its transitions from an egg to caterpillar to pupa and finally into the fully flushed butterfly has been shown beautifully.
